That’s surely a thought many students have after every exam season.
It is estimated that, during the preparation period for the National High School Graduation Exam in Vietnam, each student consumes on average about 2 kilograms of paper per year. Now, let’s do a simple calculation: with more than 2,000 high schools across Vietnam — not to mention millions of other schools around the world — every year an enormous amount of paper waste is generated, often without a clear way to handle it.

If this situation continues without effective solutions, the world will waste countless “trash resources,” and millions of trees will be cut down to produce new paper.
Realizing the urgency of this issue, the 3SR startup team from the University of Education – Vietnam National University, Hanoi has launched a smart paper recycling project in schools.
Mobile App / Web Server – a social network for waste recycling: users can earn points by recycling and redeem them for personal, group, or community needs. The system is supported by modern logistics networks such as GrabFood, GrabExpress, and Be.
Using the SR1 recycling social network is very simple and user-friendly:
- Collect your waste paper and bring it to the nearest recycling collection point shown on the app.
- Our system will verify the amount of paper you deliver, then credit points to your account via a QR code.
- Your points will be converted into virtual currency in your personal account.
Not sure what to do with this virtual money? Don’t worry — 3SR will securely store and protect your balance.
Even better, when you share the app with friends and they join, you’ll receive bonus points.
You can use your points to redeem various products such as white paper, tissue paper, green plants, food, movie tickets, and more — each with a corresponding point value. Once you’ve saved enough points, you can claim the items you want without spending any cash.
Wondering how you’ll get your rewards? No need to worry — a shipper will deliver them right to your door.
Currently, we’ve launched with products such as white paper and tissue paper, and we’re expanding to include food, movie tickets, green plants, and many more items.
The SR1 mobile app will help students, teachers, and parents implement this recycling project more easily and effectively within schools.
