Degradable single use bags are replacing traditional plastic bags today. Some examples material: PLA (PHA, PBS)/cellulose or PLA (PHA, PBS)/starch decomposes in soil into compost (Ok Composte Home, Seedling)

Traditional plastics are often made from fossil fuels and thus contribute to the ongoing climate crisis. According to a report by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), plastics made from fossil fuels alone account for about 15% of the world’s carbon budget, equivalent to about 1.7 billion tons of CO2.

Bio-cover is produced from green ingredients such as starch (rice flour, potatoes and corn, tapioca starch…), cellulose (coffee husks, rice husks,…).

Biocover products meet the criteria of being a future material to replace traditional plastics (PE, PP, etc.) with outstanding advantages such as:

(1) Significantly reduce dependence on fossil carbon (BABIO’s raw grain products contain from 30% to over 100% biocarbon from starch and cellulose);

(2) The content of heavy metals and toxic metals is tens of times lower than European regulations, and tens to hundreds of times lower than US regulations.

(3) When treating waste by incineration, CO2 emissions are significantly reduced (reduced from 30% to 40% compared to traditional plastic materials);

(4) Biocover’s production process does not generate industrial waste (only household waste);

(5) Can be collected, classified and recycled;

(6) Easily combined with recycled plastic, stone powder, color masterbatch… when producing products that do not come into direct contact with people (helps reduce the amount of plastic waste);

(7) When buried in soil, products made from BABIO materials easily decompose into organic fertilizer (CO2, H2O, CH4, Biomass)

(8) Easily integrated with traditional production equipment
